Tire Rotation in Glenview and Evanston

Why in the world should I worry about tire rotation? Well, the ASE-Certified auto mechanics at CARS of America, Inc. know auto repair and that whether you’re in Glenview and Evanston, or the surrounding area, it’s important to the life of your tires to do just that. CARS of America, Inc. is committed to prolonging the life of your tires and that’s why we recommend a regular schedule when it comes to tire rotation.

When you commit to a regular tire rotation schedule, it significantly extends the life of your tires by helping to create even tire wear. Not to get too techy, but the real reason is that most vehicles are front wheel drive; so the front tires do 100% of the steering, 80% of the braking, and 100% of the acceleration, i.e., 95% of the work. This causes the front tires to wear much faster than the rear tires. Tire and Vehicle engineers recommend the deepest tread depth on the rear to prevent hydroplaning in the rain. Like ALL preventive maintenance, rotating every 6,000 miles keeps the tread wear even.

Once it is uneven or unbalanced, the tires can no longer be rotated, causing the front tires to wear out before the rears; making the engineers' recommendations moot. Eventually this lack of maintenance results in requiring replacing tires two-at-a-time. As a tire wears, it gets smaller, so it spins faster than a newer, full-size tire. This creates a new problem; four wheel and all wheel drive suffer accelerated transmission and driveline component wear. So saving a few bucks on tire rotation leads to more frequent tire replacement and potential $3,000 - $4,000 driveline repairs.

Don't want to pay $20 to $30 every 6,000 miles for rotation? Here is how to get your tires rotated, and/or repaired, and/or replaced if damaged beyond repair FOR FREE. CARS of America offers a road hazard protection program, on new or used tires, whether we sold you the tires or not for only $12 to $25 per tires, depending on tire size.
