Recent Squirrel Damage To A Customer's Vehicle  You may not know this but, the month of May is "National Baby Squirrel Month." Sadly a customer of ours recently experienced squirrel damage to her vehicle. Around this time of year, Mama squirrels are building new nests for their recently born offspring. In this case, a Mama built her new nest under the hood of a 2014 Lexus.     While driving, the traction, ABS, and Check Engine lights all illuminated all at the same time, which was quite disconcerting to the driver, who instantly pulled over and called us. Why is it important to have my brake fluid Serviced every two years?

Why is it important to have my brake fluid Serviced every two years?

Many clients ask us, "Why is it important to have my brake fluid Serviced every two years?   The reason is two-fold.    First, Brake fluid is Hygroscopic, a fancy word for "it tends to absorb moisture from the air."  Why is that important?  Your brakes are frequently referred to as "hydraulic Brakes"  In the early 20th century, brakes were mechanical, consisting of cables, levers, and other things. All that stuff was exposed to the weather, tended to get rusty, and stop working. Your bicycle has mechanical brakes, with cables and actuators.   Hydraulic brakes are more efficient, provide the ability to "leverage" the foot pressure to apply more brakes when needed. Think of hydraulic brakes like a tube of toothpaste. You step on the tube and caulking squirts out of the nozzle. Hydraulic brakes work the same way; you step on the pedal, and fluid is forced to all four wheels simultaneous ... read more

What’s better than grabbing your keys and jumping behind the wheel to take off on the spur of the moment--on a road trip to a famous location, to visit an old friend, or just to pick up some late-night munchies? To a lot of Americans, our cars reflect our personalities. And why not? Most of us spend an awful lot of time behind the wheel. Why not take the time to figure out exactly what kind of vehicle both meets our needs and tells the world, “Hey, world, here I am!” What do different types of cars say about their owners? Pickup truck drivers tend to be hardworking and no-nonsense. People drive hybrids both to save money on gas and because they care about the environment. Drivers of sports cars like to feel powerful and attractive. Do you kno ... read more
