Recent Squirrel Damage To A Customer's Vehicle You may not know this but, the month of May is "National Baby Squirrel Month." Sadly a customer of ours recently experienced squirrel damage to her vehicle. Around this time of year, Mama squirrels are building new nests for their recently born offspring. In this case, a Mama built her new nest under the hood of a 2014 Lexus. While driving, the traction, ABS, and Check Engine lights all illuminated all at the same time, which was quite disconcerting to the driver, who instantly pulled over and called us. After a phone consultation, we determined the vehicle was safe to drive and instructed her to come directly to our shop. Upon inspection, we found the underhood nest with a live baby squirrel, debris, 10 chewed wires, and a chewed connector. It is officially spring! After a long and cold winter, we are ready to be met with the warm sunshine and budding flowers that the springtime brings us.
